Many Atlas users have requested low-cost Census 2000 data as an alternative to commercial offerings that are exhaustive in scope but can cost a thousand dollars or more to license. Our response is the Atlas 2000 Census Datapak, containing basic Population, Age, Race and Income breakouts for 2000 Block Groups, Tracts or the 2000 ZIP Code Tab Areas for just $249. This Census Datapak can also be used in ArcView, ArcGIS and other GIS and desktop marketing systems and community information applications. Applied Geographic Solutions

For data quality, timeliness, value and customer service in demography we choose Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS) as our preferred vendor.  The data is comparable to that of any of the major vendors, and is updated at the same time every Spring.  And because AGS does not bundle its products, they are quite affordable for those with limited data needs in terms of variables and/or geographic coverage.  Most of all, when you have a question about the data or the methodology or need to understand why the numbers are different than what you expected, AGS is there.  You will get a swift response and interpretation from a senior consultant or technician, usually the same day.  

Below are the per-variable costs for AGS Estimates & Projections (E&P) and for AGS Consumer Expenditures (CEX) for national, state or county small-area coverages.  Please contact us for quotes for other large and small area geographies, such as States, Counties, MSAs, Places, Congressional Districts, etc.  We regret that AGS orders are subject to a $250 minimum.
